trainingblitz | 3. Another Progress Report [Video]

Good evening, everyone. This is Ludwig with another progress report.

[Ludwig is in his hotel room in Goldenrod city. He pans the camera to show the sun setting out the window. The camera then pans to his Pokemon: an Electabuzz, a Wartortle, a Pidgeotto, a Growlithe, and a sight that would strike anyone who saw him at the Pokeprom as new: a Torterra. His Onix, naturally, is in her Pokeball due to her size.]

First, I would like to congratulate Boden on being the first of my Pokemon to reach his final stage of evolution. [Upon hearing his name, Boden (the Torterra) looks up, gives a "Tor!" in thanks, then goes back to apparently chatting with the Wartortle. The camera pans back to Ludwig.]

Second, I would like some advice, though I have sought some out on this topic already. My Pokemon's levels are approaching the mid-to-late thirties, and I was wondering if this was a good level range for taking on Falkner. I believe I have everything settled in terms of type advantages and attacks, but I'd still like to know a good level range. And if I'm in range... wish me luck.

He says thank you. I think the others are getting a bit jealous. They need to be patient; I think they're going to evolve very soon.

Hah, efficient is one word for it. But I have been told that yes, efficiency is my forte.

Is it tough to train Pokemon?

[He hasn't even started with his and he's been in Goldenrod City for a week. He just hasn't really seen the point yet and he's not even sure where to start.]

Do you like being efficient~? I think it can be a good thing if you like it! I know a lot of really efficient people, both at home and here.

Yes, it's definitely a good thing. It ensures that things get done around here. And around elsewhere.

It does require a lot of time and effort, and it can be tiring if you also work like I do. But I think that bonding with them and watching them grow strong is very rewarding.

[This guy's trained people in his day. He knows how it feels to see someone become ready for battle. It's similar with Pokemon, but they're still not soldiers.]

Maybe. I'm not a pet person.

[Thinking of cuddly animals as a team is not something that he's very used to. If he did, he might find training them more rewarding.]

I see. If it helps, don't think of them as pets. Think of them as a team you're training for some big event in the future. They're not exactly soldiers, but you can think of them as something close to that if it makes training them easier.

Also, I think you should be fine for Faulkner-chan~! The first gyms aree usually around the ranget you said, I think.

Faulkner-chan...? [He's vaguely familiar with Japanese honorifics, so this one just seems a little odd to him.]

Duly noted. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for this.
